Disney Dad’s Dozen – Romantic Experiences for Valentines Day

Part of our Series to Get Ready for Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Do you want to make some “magic” of your own while at the Walt Disney World Resort? Here are 12 experiences for you and that special person in your life to enjoy a little romance on your vacation.

1. A Fireworks cruise.

Always better on a boat!

You can get book a private yacht and be taken out on Bay Lake, Seven Seas Lagoon or the International Gateway to watch either the Illuminations Fireworks at Epcot or Happily Ever After Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. Prices start at around $300 and can be booked online through Disney reservations. Food and beverages (of course) will cost you extra.

2. Buy matching T shirts!

No reason to go Solo in your shirt wearing. (Or is there?)

Nothing Says “I love you” … “I Know” … like a matching t-shirt for you and your loved one.

3. A night’s stay at the Grand Floridian.

Worth it for the memories.

The Grand Floridian is Disney’s answer to a luxury hotel. The Grand Floridian is upscale in every way and is tailor made for couples. Restaurants, Lounges and an award-winning spa make it the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. In the resort lobby, Mizner’s Lounge has a fantastic jazz band called the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra. They appear nightly. Don’t miss them!

4. Share a Dole Whip.

Dole Whip it real good.

Nothing says romance like an icy pineapple treat from Adventureland. One treat – two spoons!

5. Have a Margarita in Mexico.

It’s 5:00 somewhere

Escape your troubles with a romantic cocktail in one of my favorite out of the way bars in all the “world”. La Cava Del Tequila is a tiny lounge located in the Mexican pavilion of Epcot. Sample a tequila flight together or if you are feeling adventurous have one of their famous Jalapeno Margaritas on the Rocks. ‘

6. Take a romantic stroll.

As if you don’t walk enough at WDW…

Have a long leisurely walk together. Walk around World Showcase at Epcot. Don’t go on any attractions. Wander from country to country and see what you see and hear what you hear. Stop and see some performers or a band. Have a drink. Sit and just be. The resorts are also great walk around spots. I love the walkways at the Polynesian and the Caribbean Beach, especially.
