It’s freezing. In fact, today in Connecticut – it’s currently in the 30s and a wind chill bringing it down into the 20s. THEN it’s gusting up to 60mph dropping the wind chill into the teens!
What do we do for breakfast when we need a warm, filling and tasty breakfast for the family before heading out on our day? We get “old fashioned”!
We make fresh oatmeal – usually with an apple and cinnamon flavor profile – seems to make the masses happy.
It’s really easy to do – so we put together this fun little video recipe walking you through the process. You’re only minutes away from a yummy breakfast!
Here’s what you need:
Old Fashioned Oats
Apple (1 or 2 depending on the size and how much you’re making, skinned and diced)
Raisins (or dried cranberries if you’re feeling crazin’)
Maple Syrup (don’t be foolish – get the REAL stuff)
In the video, we made enough apple cinnamon oatmeal for our little family and a good supply left over to warm up later in the week. We based it on 6 servings according to the Quaker Oats ratios.
Easy Peasy! What other quick meal videos would you like to have us share? We’re game and ready to help!
Cheers and Enjoy!
UPDATE! One of our readers, Jerry from Jersey, just sent us a photo of his lunch we inspired! Well done Jerry!
