You’re relaxing at home. All cozy. The kids are fed, bathed and quietly reading or coloring. You turn to your significant other and in a moment of pure hypothesis, you say (in a voice not loud enough for the peanut gallery to hear) “We should go to Disney World”.
Sometimes, that’s all it takes. IF your significant other turns back to you and says “Ok, what do we need to do to make this happen?” – you’re in business.
But, yeah, it’s not that easy. You don’t just GO to Disney World anymore. And it’s not a simple ‘let’s wait and see what happens’ kinda deal. If you want to make the most our of your Walt Disney World vacation – you have to start planning – and it’s serious business. It’s like studying for the SATs and practically a part time job – late nights, weekends, hours and hours of research with a good amount of the thrill of the hunt!
If you’re like me, and enjoy planning vacations – this will be fun. If you’re not like me, and dread planning vacations – I can help you there too.
I am by no means a “Disney Expert”. I’ve been to Disney World as a performer in high school. I went in my 20s with my friends and yes, I had my honeymoon there, too. I’ve been to Disneyland in California just as many times – in middle school, in my 20s and with my best friend in our 30s.
I’ve been enough to know how it works and not nearly as much as a Disney Super Fan may go. (However, I do have some great friends who HAVE been a million times, and even friends who are or have been castmembers – so I’ll have lots of tips and stories from them, too!)
I haven’t done the Disney Cruise and I don’t own a Disney Vacation Club plan. Sorry, but you won’t find much of that here.
While I admit I’m not an expert… I love my family, I love planning, I love having a good time and I love Disney. Because of those 4 pillars – I’ve been excitedly planning our family Disney World vacation for well over a year now.
Seriously – if I studied in college, like I have been for this trip, I’d be a neurosurgeon.
A bit about the brood…. we are a happy little family – my wife and our three kids. My kids are aged 5 and under and because the world is a bit of a scary place, you won’t be seeing them in my photos here. I’ll share what I learn, I’ll share what I know, I’ll share tips and tricks and hacks and favorites and more – but you’ll just have to trust me that the kids are damn cute!
So, what am I going to talk about here at DADventure Disney? I’ll be sharing where it all started and how the planning began. I’ll share my thoughts, tips and tricks on things such as: tools you need, park passes, Disney resorts, food and meal plans, websites and apps, FastPasses, budgets, itineraries, travel, rides, characters, packing, gear, shopping, the individual parks, and yes – how to do all this with three LITTLE kids.
If you’re a super planner, there will be a lot here for you. If you want to know how to do it as easy as possible – I’ll share some of that too!
I hope you join me for the ride – it will be fun. To get started – say hi here in the comments below or DROP ME A LINE and let me know any specifics you’re looking to find here at DADventure Disney.
We’ll be posting a lot and if you don’t want to miss anything – sign up for our newsletter today!
